Joining the renowned Philharmonic orchestra there are also performances from R&B artist ‘Prima’ and Rochdale Music Service Musical Theatre Choir
You can get into the festive spirit and enjoy some classic seasonal favourites over Christmas when the BBC Philharmonic and BBC Radio Manchester Christmas Concert that was recorded last week in Rochdale at Number One Riverside is broadcast.
You can tune in on Friday 23 December at 1pm or 10pm, Christmas Eve at 5pm and on Christmas Day at 12 midday. 
It will be broadcast on BBC Radio Manchester which you can find on DAB, online and on 95.1FM. You can also listen on BBC Sounds and on the BBC iPlayer once the first broadcast has taken place.
Hosted by BBC presenters Anna Jameson and Asma Younus in front of a live audience, joining the renowned Philharmonic orchestra there are also performances from R&B artist ‘Prima’ and Rochdale Music Service Musical Theatre Choir.
 
 
Rochdale Borough Council deputy leader Janet Emsley was at the recording and said she was very proud to see Rochdale host the concert for the first time. She said: “They are one of the UK’s very best orchestras and the performance was absolutely superb. 
“It was a sensational concert and I am so pleased that tens of thousands of people will now be able to hear it too. If you want to enjoy some festive cheer I promise it will provide the perfect soundtrack. 
“Thank you to the BBC and all the wonderful musicians.”
