Rochdale primary school admissions Jan 2023
Parents are being reminded of the importance of applying for their child's primary school place before the 16 January closing date.
Applications for children starting school in September 2023 (those born between 1 September 2018 and the end of August 2019) need to be submitted in the next few days.
All you have to do is apply online using your smart phone, tablet or computer; you can access the form 24 hours a day so you can apply when most convenient.
If you do not have access to a smart phone, tablet or computer, you can use the computers at any of the libraries in the borough.
You can make changes to the form until Monday 16 January, the closing date for all applications.
You can also track the progress of your application and you will receive updates throughout the process.
The council will send confirmation of your child’s place via email which means you don’t have to wait for a letter in the post.
Councillor Rachel Massey, cabinet member for children’s services and education, said: “Don’t delay your primary school application, the deadline is fast approaching.
“This is an important and exciting time as starting school is a major step in your child’s educational journey where they will begin to learn, socialise with others and develop their own identity. It’s simple and easy for you to apply, but please contact us if you need any assistance.”
She added: “Make sure to put four different schools on your form because some are very popular and it may not be possible to guarantee your first choice.”
