The pandemic continues to change how rankings are calculated. Students taking the SAT/ACT sharply decreased, particularly among students from a low-income backgrounds. Many Ohio schools have moved to a “test-optional” policy because of widespread testing cancellations due to the pandemic. Case Western Reserve University removed its ACT and SAT requirements beginning Fall 2021, though students may still submit scores.
Other changes included part-time faculty with a terminal degree as part of the larger instructional faculty and reranking schools based on the 2021 update from the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education.
