USA Shooting: Weisz, Maddalena Both Earn Bronze At 2022 ISSF … – Shooting Sports USA

Alison Weisz and Sagen Maddalena both earned bronze medals in the Women’s 10m Air Rifle event on Friday, December 2, at the 2022 ISSF President’s Cup in Cairo, Egypt.
The two USA Shooting National Team members and 2020 Tokyo Olympians were invited to this prestigious competition due to the fact they have a world ranking of 12 or higher in the Women’s 10m Air Rifle. In addition, Maddalena was invited to compete in Women’s 50m Rifle 3-Position event.
Weisz and Maddalena, who are both soldiers in the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit, competed in the air rifle event over the course of three days. The first round was qualification, then ranking matches and concluding with the semi-finals.
Because of the format of this competition, Weisz, who hails from Belgrade, Montana, and Maddalena, of Groveland, California, shot scores in the semi-finals that earned them both bronze medals.
At the ISSF President’s Cup, athletes from all around the world compete in the annual tournament for cash prizes and the Golden Target award.
