UK: Alleged ransomware attack targets the Guardian newspaper – DNP INDIA

UK: Although its website was largely unharmed, UK daily The Guardian claimed on Wednesday that it had had a “major IT disruption,” possibly a ransomware attack.
The crisis started late on Tuesday and affected various areas of the newspaper group’s technological infrastructure.
“Behind-the-scenes services” have been somewhat disrupted, and employees have been urged to work from home while the issue is being fixed, according to the Guardian.

Online publishing remains mostly unaffected, the newspaper continued, with stories still being written and posted to the Guardian website and app.
Anna Bateson, chief executive of Guardian Media Group, and Katharine Viner, editor-in-chief, assured workers that they would be able to publish in print the following day.
“With a few key exceptions we would like everyone to work from home for the remainder of the week
unless we notify you otherwise,” they further added.
