Zinedine Zidane turned down the opportunity to coach USA after the 2022 World Cup, it's claimed.
Zidane has been without a club since 2021 when his second spell as Real Madrid boss came to an end.
According to L'Equipe, the French tactician was approached by the American national team but he stated he is not interested in the position.
The USA manager hotseat is vacant after Gregg Berhalter's contract expired at the end of last year.
US Soccer has launched an investigation involving Berhalter after the World Cup.
Danielle Reyna, mother of Borussia Dortmund ace Gio and wife of legendary American Claudio, shared information of a 31-year-old domestic violence incident involving the former manager and his future wife, Rosalind.

The boyhood club of Chelsea's latest signing, David Datro Fofana, have attempted to CANCEL his move to Stamford Bridge.
The Blues confirmed the arrival of the striker, 20, from Molde last month for £10.5million.
However, according to The Mail, Fofana's childhood side, Abidjan City, have written to Fifa alleging his first professional move to Molde two years ago was "unlawful".
The row is the result of a dispute between Abidjan City and Fofana's mother over whether she signed a consent form for him to join the Norwegian club in 2016.
At the time, he was just 15 years of age.
Club president Marco Taddei wrote: "We, therefore, invite you to intervene with the Chelsea club so that the player’s transfer is suspended until the dispute between the Molde FK club and ourselves is settled."
Manchester United transfer target Frenkie de Jong is NOT for sale, according to Barcelona president Joan Laporta.
The Dutchman is seen as the long-term successor to Sergio Busquets.
Laporta said: “Frenkie de Jong is not for sale.
“He wasn’t for sale in the summer and he won’t leave this year.”
He continued: “De Jong is a very appealing footballer, we know that, but I insist he’s not for sale.”
Barcelona turned down a £225million Inter Milan bid for Lionel Messi in 2006, according to their former club president Joan Laporta.
The Catalan politician served as the club's chief between 2003 and 2010 before returning last year.
And Laporta, 60,was asked about the future of unhappy talisman Lionel Messi – leading to a stunning admission.
Last April, he told Radio Onda Cero: "Nobody who loves Barcelona can have doubts about Messi.
"We rejected a £225m offer coming from Inter in 2006. [Massimo] Moratti wanted to bring him to his club."
The offer dwarfed what was the then transfer world-record, which was the £46.6m that Real Madrid paid for Zinedine Zidane in 2001.
Graham Potter says Chelsea are no longer a hire ’em, fire ’em club when it comes to managers.
Just two wins in eight games would have had his predecessors looking over their shoulders.
But Potter said: “The owners are billionaires, so are quite smart — smarter than me, for sure.
“So they understand the challenges we have and the direction we want to go in.
“I’ve been here four months and five or six weeks have been lost to international football.
“I would always feel lucky to be at Chelsea as I feel grateful and privileged to be here.”
Manchester United are reportedly preparing to introduce a “Cristiano Ronaldo rule” which will see salaries limited to £200,000-a-week.
The Red Devils’ most recent annual wage bill was around £228m – the biggest in the Premier League.
Before Ronaldo’s departure to Al-Nassr, he was earning a staggering £480,000-a-week, while keeper David de Gea is still raking in £375k every seven days.
However, according to The Mail, chief executive Richard Arnold, director of football John Murtough and manager Erik ten Hag are set to employ a squad-wide pay cap in order to avoid a culture of jealousy in the dressing room.
And that means De Gea, who is out of contract this summer, will be offered a new deal in the region of £180,000-£200,000-a-week.
Sean Dyche heads a clutch of high-profile managers ready to answer Everton’s SOS should Frank Lampard be sacked.
The Toffees are at a low point in their Premier League history, languishing third from bottom as the clubs approach the halfway stage.
But that has not put off a series of candidates who would be willing to throw their hat in the ring if   the club’s board decide to pull the trigger on struggling Lampard.
SunSport understand Dyche, 51, is keen on the Goodison post and the former Burnley chief has the Premier League survival experience they need.
Free-agent Dyche has been waiting for a top-flight return and has snubbed many Championship offers.
Everton duo James Tarkowski and Dwight McNeil are two of his old Burnley favourites and that could help the ‘Ginger Mourinho’ settle in should the chance arise.
Manchester United have suffered a transfer blow in their bid to sign Borussia Monchengladbach goalkeeper Yann Sommer.
United are keeping tabs on Sommer during the January transfer window amid doubts over David de Gea’s future at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils, though, are facing intense competition from Bayern Munich who are looking for someone to fill in for Manuel Neuer, who broke his leg in a skiing accident.
But Gladbach director Roland Virkus insists the Switzerland international, who is also targeted by Inter Milan, won’t be allowed to leave the Borussia-Park mid-season..
Virkus told the Rheinische Post: “We will not let Yann Sommer go in January. We have also informed Bayern.”
David Moyes is in with a shout of a return to Everton should the Toffees sack Frank Lampard.
Moyes is still in charge at West Ham, but like Lampard, his job is under threat.
West Ham chief Moyes is loved by chairman Bill Kenwright, who brought him to Merseyside more than 20 years ago.
Moyes, 59, would cost around £5million in compensation to free him from the London Stadium — but Everton could well consider that money well spent.
The Scot still thinks fondly of his time at Goodison where he first coined the ‘People’s Club’ phrase.
He only rents in London and a move to the north west would work for him.
Jude Bellingham’s admirers will have to pay around £100million up front if they hope to sign Europe’s hottest property in the summer.
Both Manchester clubs and Liverpool would love to bring him to the Premier League, while Real Madrid are confident they can trump them all.
Borussia Dortmund are understood to have told all interested parties they are prepared to do  business — if the majority of Bellingham’s valuation is paid in one hit.
And with a fee in the region of £130m being quoted, any serious buyer will have to come up with a huge down payment.
It has made a top-four finish vital for Liverpool, while United know they need the same after slipping down the pecking order of go-to clubs for players in recent seasons.
With Bellingham’s wages expected to be in the region of £300,000 per week and a hefty signing bonus, Dortmund expect their stance to flush out the serious bidders.
Man Utd target Marcus Thuram has reportedly opened talks with Chelsea.
The French forward is a wanted man after his fine form this season as well as his impressive performances at the World Cup in Qatar.
Chelsea are in the market for more firepower and have already added young striker David Datro Fofana to their roster.
The club has also signed defender Benoit Badiashile and midfielder Andrey Santos.
However, the Blues are not yet done in the January transfer window as manager Graham Potter looks to put his stamp on the squad.

And according to Italian outlet La Repubblica, that could mean Roma could let the centre forward go – with the two Premier League clubs monitoring the situation.
Chelsea have received a major transfer blow in their bid to sign Brighton star Moises Caicedo.
The Seagulls’ CEO Paul Barber has delivered a further blow to their hopes of landing the midfielder in the January transfer blow with a jest to Chelsea manager Graham Potter.
Potter coached the Ecuador international during his time as Brighton boss and previously claimed that a reported bid of £42million from the West Londoners wouldn’t be enough.
In fact, the 47-year-old tactician claimed that amount would probably only buy Caicedo’s boots.
But Barber has made it even harder for the Stamford Bridge outfit as he now claims that fee would probably not even be enough to purchase his shoelaces.
Corinthians have registered an interest in signing Philippe Coutinho from Aston Villa.
According to Spanish outlet Sport, the Brazilian side want to sign the former Barcelona star on loan, but it will be a “difficult deal”.

Clubs at home and abroad have made inquiries for Rovers’ Chile international.
But the price remains the same despite his contract expiring in the summer — meaning he can sign a pre-contract with a foreign club now.
Newcastle, Everton, West Ham and Leeds are not prepared to pay that fee.
The 23-year-old striker enjoyed a breakout season last year in which he scored 22 goals in 37 Championship games.
While he has not been as prolific this season, he has still been in good form, having scored ten goals in 29 appearances in all competitions.
Liverpool vs Wolves ended in a 2-2 draw, but it wasn't without its fair share of controversy.
Toti Gomes saw his late goal against Liverpool bizarrely ruled out by VAR for offside – but NOBODY understands why.
The Wolves defender flicked home Hwang Hee-chan's shot and looked to have completely an impressive turnaround.
But following a lengthy check from the technology, the goal was chalked off.
The decision led to an angry reaction from Julen Lopetegui, who was booked for his protests.
While the ITV commentators were also confused as to why the goal was disallowed.
It was explained after that the corner taker received the ball back in an offside position, but that the angle wasn't clear enough to show on TV.
The Reds are 2-1 up against Wolves in the third round of the FA Cup.
Goncalo Guedes made it 1-0 to the away side in the first half after Alisson's blunder.
But goals from Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah have put Jurgen Klopp's side ahead.
Newcastle were dumped out of the third round by Cambridge last season and the same has happened this time around at the hands of the Owls.
Josh Windass, son of former striker Dean, scored a brace to put his side in the fourth round.
Windass’ first goal should have been ruled out for offside but there was no VAR.
Yet Newcastle could not complain too much as Bruno Guimaraes' strike, which brought it back to 2-1, was also offside.
Newcastle and Brighton are chasing Dundee United’s teenage star Rory MacLeod.
The Scotland Under-17 striker, 16, is the latest hot property to be unearthed by the Premiership club.
Dundee-born MacLeod has made three appearances for United so far this season.
He became the club’s youngest player when he came off the bench in a win over Motherwell in February 2022.
The Terrors may be willing to sell for about £400,000 plus add-ons as English interest continues to build.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been working hard in the gym as he gears up to make his Al-Nassr debut.
The Portugal superstar signed a £173million contract with the Saudi Pro League this week.
But Ronaldo missed their 2-0 win over Al-Ta'ee.
That's because the 37-year-old is currently suspended.
Ronaldo's ban dates back to April when he slammed an Everton supporters phone out of their hand.
As a result, he was fined and handed a two-match ban by the FA back in November.
Tammy Abraham is a target for BOTH Arsenal and Man Utd, this January transfer window.
The Roma striker has endured a difficult campaign this season, after a stellar debut for the Serie A giants.
Following his 27 goal haul last term, this year he has struggled with just four strikes in 21 games.
And according to Italian outlet La Repubblica, that could mean Roma could let the centre forward go – with the two Premier League clubs monitoring the situation.
Leandro Trossard was dropped for Brighton's FA Cup clash with Middlesbrough.
The Belgian is the Seagulls' top scorer this season with seven goals in 16 games.
espite this, he had already been benched for their mid-week 4-1 demolition of Everton at Goodison Park.
After leaving Trossard out altogether for his side's trip to The Riverside, boss Roberto De Zerbi revealed that he "wants more" from the 28-year-old.
Trossard's contract is set to expire at the end of the season, although Brighton possess the option to extend the deal by a further year.
His contractual situation has led to plenty of transfer speculation, with Chelsea among those linked with making a swoop.

He told the club media: "It’s a very big opportunity for me. This is a big club playing in big competitions like the Premier League so I am very excited.
"The players here are so good and I am very happy to be here."
A Ukraine-based agent has slammed Shakhtar Donetsk for pricing Mykhailo Mudryk out of a transfer to the Premier League.
Arsenal and Chelsea are both keen on a move for the 22-year-old.
However, Shakhtar’s price tag of £80million-plus could scupper any chance of a deal materialising this month.
Agent Igor Kryvenko fumed to Footboom: “Minimal. Shakhtar won’t let Mudryk go for the money they are currently offering. €100m is an inadequate price.
“A player from the Ukrainian championship cannot cost more than, for example, a player from the Netherlands. You have to look at things realistically. There is a market value, and Shakhtar seem to be taking figures from the ceiling.
“The guy is in the ‘golden cage’. I know for sure that in the summer, Brentford offered good money for Mudryk, but the Donetsk team refused. It seems as if they want to reflect on their talent everything that they lost in the past failed transfers.”
David Beckham has praised his son Romeo after he signed for Brentford B on loan until the end of the season.
Right midfielder Romeo, 20, has been with his dad's MLS side Inter Miami since 2021.
