Stand down, fans of The Holiday: the rumour that The Holiday 2 is happening has been debunked by director Nancy Meyers.
In an absolutely shocking development, a rumour that popped up over at The Sun has proven not to be true. Cultural commentators are said to be shocked that previously a bastion of truth has let itself down in this manner.
The rumour – that exploded onto social media yesterday – surrounded a sequel to Nancy Meyer’s Christmas favourite The Holiday. Starring Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz and Jude Law, The originally report from the now-tarnished outlet suggested that filming was going to take place on a follow-up in 2023, with ‘the main talent’ reportedly ‘all signed up’.
Nancy Meyers soon sorted this out over on her Instagram feed. The filmmaker took to her Instagram feed to simply declare that “it’s not true”, as you can see here…

As you were then, fans of The Holiday. The original film is just commencing its series of now-annual festive screenings, and there’s plenty of chance to catch up on it in the weeks ahead. Just you’ll have to make do with the movie you’ve got, rather than holding out hope of a follow-up.
