Scott Davis has been promoted to Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at the Office of Information and Technology (OIT), United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP), according to a CBP spokesperson.
Davis has been with CBP for more than four years, and had been working as the acting CISO for CBP after Alma Cole stepped down from the position last year.
As CISO, Davis “oversees and directs the Cybersecurity Directorate with 110+ federal employees and 130+ contract personnel, and is responsible for the cyber vision, policy, implementation, and oversight ensuring the security of information gathered, processed, used, and supporting more than 65,000 CBP employees across the country and citizens around the globe,” according to his LinkedIn profile.
Prior to working at CBP, Davis held positions both in government and the private sector, including at the Department of Labor (DOL), Department of Homeland Security’s former National Protection and Programs Directorate (NPPD) – now the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) – and Booz Allen Hamilton.
Davis holds a Bachelor of Science from Strayer University and a Masters of Business Administration from Liberty University.
