The National Football League’s (NFL) New York Jets have agreed a new partnership with Sky Sports which will see the UK pay-TV broadcaster air dedicated team programming and content throughout the 2022 season.
Last year, the Jets were one of six franchises to acquire marketing rights in the UK via the league’s International Home Marketing Areas (IHMA) programme, allowing Gang Green to sell into the market individually for the first time.
Now, in an agreement facilitated by sports and entertainment agency Sportfive, Sky will carry Jets programming such as ‘One Jets Drive’ and ‘Flight 2022’ during the current season. The content deal follows a UK marketing partnership with the Charles Tyrwhitt menswear brand signed earlier this month.
The San Francisco 49ers, another franchise awarded UK marketing rights, signed content partnerships with UK-based digital publisher Gridiron and radio station TalkSport.
“We could not be more thrilled to connect with new fans in the United Kingdom through Sky Sports,” said Hymie Elhai, president of the New York Jets.
“The UK has become the second home of the New York Jets. This partnership allows us to provide our UK fans with Jets content throughout the season and assist with the growth of our brand and this game internationally.”
