Soccer is about to boom in the USA. After decades of strategies and planning, the sport might get ample viewership. This is due to the timings of the upcoming tournaments. USWNT was carrying a lot of responsibilities to get viewership, but now there are other reasons for an average American sports fan to watch soccer. It all began when the USMNT qualified for the Qatar World Cup.

They shocked all fans and experts by qualifying for the knockout stage and performing exceptionally against England and Iran. However, the biggest gift for soccer fans in the USA was announced officially, fans will see the world cup champion Lionel Messi playing in the country.

The USWNT will be playing and aiming to achieve a three-peat in FIFA women’s world cup. Soccer fans are already hyped and it will boost the sport’s popularity, but the inclusion of Lionel Messi will be a good catalyst for the sport.
Mere hours ago, the CONMEBOL announced that the USA will be hosting the upcoming edition of Copa America. They will play in the tournament in 2024 with six CONCACAF countries participating. Players like Lionel Messi and Neymar, along with many other superstars, don’t visit the USA that often. Even if they do, it is hard for soccer. MLS tried to experiment a lot having David Beckham and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. But something always felt missing. None of these names had an impact on Lionel Messi has on the game and playing in the country will boost viewership.
The list of upcoming tasks in the US Soccer Federation got a lot bigger. After a fantastic performance in 2022, WC fans were looking forward to the tournament’s next edition. USA, Canada, and Mexico will host jointly the 2026 WC. Hosting a major tournament in the country and having expectations of the history-creating performance from USMNT is what fans want.
