These gas stations offer the lowest prices across the 10 largest cities in America
Gas prices are still a concern for residents across the United States of America. With winter upon us, several residents rely on gas-powered heaters to warm their homes. While prices have fallen since their June peak, the cost of gas in the United States is still considerably higher than a year ago.
The primary cause of the steep price hike was the sanctions imposed on Russian oil imports following the country’s invasion of Ukraine. With America no longer negotiating with one of the largest suppliers on the planet, the average price of a gallon of gas increased drastically with the average price across the country going over 5 dollars for the first time in history.
Since then, the price has slowly kept dipping with the Federal Reserve also curbing inflation by steadily introducing a series of interest rate hikes.
Hawaii continues to have the highest average prices, with The Aloha State currently averaging 5.17 dollars per gallon. California is second on the list with the average price for a gallon of gas estimated to be 4.603 dollars.
The American south continues to have some of the cheapest gas prices in the country with Texas leading the way. The average price of gas in The Lone Star State is currently 2.750 dollars. Other states such as Georgia, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Mississippi are not too far behind.
