FOND DU LAC – Were you one of the 7.2 million television viewers watching the World Cup’s opening match Sunday?
If you’d like a little camaraderie for the next game, there are a few Fond du Lac bars and restaurants offering specials during the games.
Team USA plays England at 1 p.m. Friday and again against Iran at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29.
The Coliseum will have buckets of five domestic beers for $13 as well as pitcher and pizza specials during all of the World Cup matches.
Schmitty’s Oar House Manager Carla Smith said the restaurant will offer food specials starting Monday that feature different countries throughout the World Cup. She’s still figuring out the menu but said two items will include an All-American grilled cheese and a Korean burrito.
“There’s more but not everything’s set,” she said. “We’ve got to make sure all the food arrives on Saturday before we can say anything for sure.”
She said to check Schmitty’s Oar House’s Facebook page for updated specials, which her team will launch on Monday.
