A SHOPKEEPER slammed for selling £2 drinks for £100 at Britain's "most expensive corner shop" says he doesn't care about people criticising him.
'Wakey Wines' in Yorkshire became famous on social media after bottles of Prime drink flew off the shelves for eye-watering prices.
Owner Mohammed Az Nazir attracted both criticism and social media fame after selling cans of Prime Energy for a whopping £100 each.
The drink retails in Asda and Aldi at just £1.99, but the Yorkshire store’s heavily inflated prices saw fans travel miles to get their hands on Prime.
But after reaching around 500,000 followers on the video platform, TikTok appears to have suspended the ‘Wakey Wines’ account.
In a statement reacting to the ban on Instagram, shop owner Nazir insisted that criticism of his business was from "jealous horrible" people.
He said: “All of my videos are for fun.
“I saw a business idea with sweets just like any other businessman and I took the opportunity.;"
Vendor Nazir went on to blame the ban on “some jealous horrible people”.
The reason for the ban is currently not known.
Prime has become the first "viral drink" and is in ever-increasing demand in UK shops.
The canned version of the drink has only launched in the US, with UK retailers usually only stocking the bottled version.
Customers have travelled more than 100 miles to get their hands on the drink at the popular newsagents in Wakefield.
Another TikTok video even shows a woman pay a whopping £145 for six bottles of Prime.
Other videos showed a group of girls who had travelled 133 miles from Carlisle, Cumbria, to Wakefield.
Prime has seen shoppers queuing for hours to nab the drinks containing mostly water added with vitamins and minerals, with few calories and no added sugar.
Advertised as a "hydration drink" it is also made up of coconut water but does not have any caffeine in it.
The drink is so hot among youngsters that desperate parents have travelled more than 500 miles just to get their hands on a bottle.
Supermarkets have even seen stampedes of customers and parents wrestling kids out of the way to get their hands on a bottle.
And on Facebook Marketplace, bottles are being offered for 10 times the original price tag.
The ban comes after KSI, who has over 40 million social media followers, lashed out at the store for “ripping off” fans.
He said in a video: “You’re getting ripped off!
“Do not pay that much for Prime. I know people want Prime.
Just wait, or get in nice and early at Asda and pay £2.
“You should not be paying £25 for one bottle of Prime”.
