“It is always an honor to compete at state finals,” USA coach Mike Peter said. “It is an absolute celebration of the sport. Earning to go is always a gift for all of the hard work and sacrifice throughout the year. This year was a good year for USA cross country. Though the weather was not wonderful, it didn’t matter. We were ready to compete.”
“Isaac Bignall will definitely be a high performer his senior year,” Peter added. “He has the work ethic and drive to make big things happen as he improves as a runner. He’s definitely devoted to being one of the best. His state final finish was 50 places better than last year. He should come out of this ready to have a great track season. Watch out for him in the middle-distance events.”

“This is a bittersweet season for our girls team,” USA coach Mike Peter said. “In the past two years, our girls have performed the best a USA girls team has at the state finals. There’s a lot to celebrate. However, we lose four seniors. They’ve given so much to the program and the team. A few of the seniors have been with the program since I took over in 2015. So they have given 8 years of dedication to growing this program what it is today.”
“Lauren Green and Olivia Peter have ran since they were in fifth grade,” Peter added. “Their dedication to team has made what we have today and they’ll be missed. Olivia Tomlinson and Gabi Reinbold have given so much as well to the program for the time that they have been a part of it. I’m certainly proud for all that they’ve accomplished. We still have a very strong team that’ll be at states next year showing they’re still near the top.”
