The U.S. News and World Report annual ranking of the country’s top college and universities has been released for 2022.
The University at Buffalo tied for 38th place among public universities nationally, considering academics, tuition cost and other factors. That’s down from 34th place in 2021. UB also tied for 93rd place on the list when private facilities are included. That’s also down, from 88th last year.
Fredonia State College finished in 14th place among public universities in the North and at number 62 when also included with regional public and private schools. Canisius College and Niagara University are the highest-ranked schools in the Northern Region locally. They tied for 21st place.
Meanwhile, Daemen College was ranked in the second tier of the National Universities list, where it has been since moving from the Regional Universities North category in 2019. Daemen was cited on the magazine’s Best Colleges Social Mobility list, which measures how well students do who have received Pell Grants. Daemen was also included on the U.S. News first-ever Best Undergraduate Nursing rankings.
