ANN ARBOR, MI – The University of Michigan-Ann Arbor has the best online program to get a master’s degree in business administration in the state, according to a newly-released U.S. News & World Report ranking.
The online program through UM’s Ross Business School ranks No. 1 in Michigan and No. 18 in the nation, according to the rankings released Tuesday, Jan. 24. It is the only Michigan university or college ranked in the top-100 out of 344 programs that were ranked.
The MBA programs are ranked by a methodology that weighs the program’s ability to engage with students in various online platforms, how employers view students from the program, faculty credentials and technological capabilities.
There are 12 other universities or colleges in Michigan that feature in the rankings, including four more in the top-150.
Kettering University in Flint and Ferris State University in Big Rapids rank No. 110 and No. 115, respectively. UM-Dearborn is No. 132 and Central Michigan University is No. 142.
The programs for Andrews University in Berrien Springs and Northwood University in Midland are both ranked No. 169, while Rochester-based Oakland University’s program rounds out the top-200 at No. 197.
The MBA programs at Walsh College in Troy and Lawrence Technological University in Southfield rank No 234 and No. 245, respectively.
There are two colleges in the city of Adrian that made the rankings. Siena Heights University ranks No. 255, while Adrian College is in the No. 261-344 range. Madonna University in Livonia is also in the No. 261-344 range.
