Sky Sports have signed a blockbuster deal to screen the US Open as tennis returns to the UK broadcaster. Sky are set to bask in the success of 2021 Flushing Meadows champion Emma Raducanu with a deal to broadcast the tournament signed until 2027.
The broadcaster has announced that it will have exclusive rights to the US Open from 2023 to 2027. The tournament is set to start on August 28 next year.
It has penned a deal with the United States Tennis Association (USTA), with which it claims to have a long-time relationship. Sky will show the men’s and women’s singles, alongside coverage of Double’s, Mixed Doubles, Juniors, and Wheelchair competitions. It will have feeds of all courts.
The US Open was previously broadcast by Sky for 25 years between 1991 and 2015. They had the rights to Andy Murray’s triumph in New York in 2012.

“We have had a great history with the USTA and remember Andy Murray’s 2012 US Open win as one of the great moments on Sky Sports. This is another huge sporting event for our viewers, and we look forward to bringing tennis fans more of what they love and welcoming in new fans to the sport.”
