Sun Princess displayed as holographic 3D display in UK cruise … – Sea News

Princess Cruises’ next-generation ship, Sun Princess, has been promoted to shoppers in London through a holographic display that uses 8k, ultra-HD 3D HyperGram technology, a cruise industry first in the UK.
The promotion, which is in partnership between Princess Cruises and Disturbed Media Group, appeared in the atrium at Westfield London (White City) on 3 – 5 December and can be seen again from 18 – 19 December at King’s Cross.
Using HyperGram’s holographic technology, the visual experience aims to captivate passers-by with a realistic display combined with an immersive public experience. Viewers see the exterior and interior of the yet-to-launch Sun Princess whilst hearing ‘The Love Boat’ theme tune from the much-loved TV series filmed onboard a Princess Cruises ship during the 1970s – 1980s.
Princess Cruises’ newest, largest, and most sustainable ship yet, the 4,300-guest Sun Princess launches February 2024 to sail an inaugural season in the Mediterranean.
Currently under construction at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy, the largest Princess ship ever constructed embraces Italian heritage by featuring a freshly designed Piazza and a new cutting-edge entertainment space, The Dome, inspired by the terraces of Santorini. Sun Princess will feature more than 29 restaurants and bars and 21 decks. There will be more than 1,500 balcony staterooms, and all balcony and oceanview staterooms boast an in-room sofa.
Part of Carnival Corporation’s green cruising focus, Sun Princess will also be the first Princess ship and one of 11 new vessels in the corporate fleet powered by Liquified Natural Gas (LNG).
Suzanne Korff, Princess Cruises UK and Europe marketing director, said: “Princess Cruises is at the forefront of innovation, with our Medallion technology providing effortless, personalised holidays to our guests, and with Sun Princess is our next-generation ship, it made sense for Princess to be the first cruise line in the UK to partner with Disturbed Media Group on this exciting and innovative marketing activation.”
Bailey Young, Co-Founder of Disturbed Media Group says: “HyperGram has a strong reputation for connecting people to immersive holographic experiences that gather attention and that people remember.
“Technology is advancing faster than ever before and gaining the attention of the general public is becoming harder for brands. We introduced HyperGram in the UK, in the run-up to Christmas, to allow brands to break through the clutter and excite consumers in an innovative and interactive manner.”
