Man taken to hospital after car overturns on M56 – Messenger Newspapers

A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after his car overturned on the M56 outside Trafford.
The emergency services, including an air ambulance, were called to the area close to the exit for Lymm on Sunday at 12.20pm.
On arrival, a car had overturned. The driver of the Audi, a 32-year-old man, was taken to Aintree Hospital with serious injuries.
The passenger, a 68-year-old woman, sustained minor injuries.

A police spokesperson said: “Officers were called at 12.20pm on Sunday to reports of a collision involving one car, a grey Audi A5. As a result, the car had overturned.
“The driver of the car, a 32-year-old man, was taken to Aintree Hospital with serious injuries. The passenger of the car, a 68-year-old woman, sustained minor injuries.”
The M56 was closed in both directions for a short time, then westbound back to the exit for Altrincham for several hours, while an investigation was completed.
A diversion was established, but there were tailbacks to the exit for Hale Barns throughout the afternoon and into the evening.
The road reopened after 6pm, according to National Highways.
