“How much of the conversation really is the meat of where the Cowboys stand at the moment?” host Cory Mageors asked.

The saga with Washington Commanders owner Dan Snyder continues, and the ensuing drama that has ensued at this week’s fall NFL owners meetings has made for plenty of fodder for sports talk radio.
But on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas, The K&C Masterpiece crew seems burnt out on talking about everything that’s happened away from the games themselves.
“How much of the conversation really is the meat of where the Cowboys stand at the moment?” host Cory Mageors asked. He made a point talking about the fact that often there’s no choice but to talk about developments off the field, because it does tie in directly to the on-field product. He understands that the cycle of stories can’t all be rainbows and butterflies.
“It can’t be all these feel-good stories about life, cause that’s not what life is at all,” Mageors said. “But sometimes I’m like man, we’re discussing the business part of football, and when did the business side of the sport become more important or take precedent right along beside of what the athletes are doing and why they’re doing it.”
Co-host Kevin Hageland added that he understood where Mageors was coming from, but did point out that their show tends to stick to the x’s and o’s.
“I don’t think that’s our show. I think that’s other shows,” he said. “I think that’s national shows that do that.”
Co-host Mike Bacsik chipped in saying that all the business of sports stuff does ultimately take away from the significance of a team’s success throughout the course of a season.
“This is why winning doesn’t matter as much anymore in sports. It’s because they can make so much money off the team,” he said. “There’s no revenue in winning and losing anymore.”

“You think about it in the game, probably the quarterback, they’re first and we’re (left tackle) probably second as far as who needs to know the most on the field…”

Andrew Whitworth has been a bright light on the set on Amazon Prime’s Thursday Night Football pregame show. He recently made note of how he’s fortunate to have the position because those who played his position aren’t represented well in media.
Joining Burns and Gambo on Arizona Sports 98.7, Whitworth said he was having a good time on the set and is proud to be doing it.
“It’s a lot of fun. You know there’s not much out there for the offensive linemen getting the chance to talk about the game they love and the passion they have for it and really, from our perspective.”
Whitworth says that his perspective should be considered just as valuable because of what his position is asked to know.
“You think about it in the game, probably the quarterback, they’re first and we’re (left tackle) probably second as far as who needs to know the most on the field all the time on the offensive side of the ball,” Whitworth said. “It’s going to be fun to be a part of that and some of the guys and I have gotten into to it. To represent the big fellas, I can’t wait.”
