Whether manager, programmer, database analyst, or network engineer, all IT professions benefit from a proficiency in ensuring the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of data. With trillions of dollars budgeted for cyber defense, this degree increases the marketability of professionals in any IT position.
Designed for working professionals, this program will fast-track students’ development in the new and emerging technologies needed to advance professionally in the IT and Cybersecurity fields. For International students enrolled in these programs, Curricular Practical Training – CPT – will be available for eligible required internships / work placement.
Hybrid Delivery
The program is delivered in a hybrid format in which students complete the program in five terms, with online work during the semester and a three-day on campus residency each semester. Students must attend all residencies to continue enrollment in the program. Please note: Executive programs are a mix of asynchronous and synchronous classes through June 2023.  On campus residencies will resume beginning the Summer of 2023.
A virtual orientation session to cover immigration issues, academics, login processes, and billing and payments and to provide an opportunity to meet the faculty and staff of NEC will take place a week before the term starts. Admitted students will receive the link to access the orientation session.
An internship is required each semester, starting in the first semester, regardless of your citizenship status or visa status. The internship is an integral part of the Executive program.
In the period before and after the residencies, students will complete their course work online. Instructors will maintain regular ‘virtual’ office hours and will be available to assist students as required throughout the semester.
Students must take at least seven credits per semester to be considered full-time.
Attendance Policy
Due to the hybrid nature of our residency model, online attendance is required each week of the term. This means that students will not be allowed to register after the official term start date.
In person attendance, on campus in New Hampshire, will be mandatory when we resume the residency weekend sessions. These sessions are an exciting and valuable component to the curriculum.
Curriculum
The NEC curriculum focuses on the primary topics that the ACM (Association of Computer Machinery) identifies as the pillars of an IT curriculum, with a new focus on Cybersecurity.
