According to a survey conducted by Statista as part of the Global Consumer Survey, soccer is by far the favorite sport in the UK, with 80 percent of British fans watching it. Perhaps more surprisingly, boxing comes in second place, with a 29 percent share of sports fans, followed by cricket with 26 percent and only in fourth place rugby at 25 percent.
Of the approximately 4,124 sports fans surveyed in the UK, 25 percent said they follow professional tennis competitions, compared to 21 percent of motorsports. American football also makes it into the top roundup, with 13 percent of UK sports fans following it, surpassing cycling, which saw only 12 percent.
