A PUB landlord was left red-faced after his cheeky parrot started squawking: “Show us your knickers.”
Richard Hammond — who pulls pints with Kermit perched on his shoulder — said shocked female punters thought it was him asking.
The former bricklayer, 63, told The Sun: “Customers hadn’t seen him at first and thought it was me and gave me a very dirty look.
“He chats away and comes out with all the classics, ‘Who’s a pretty boy?’, ‘Kiss a mummy’, ‘Hello’, ‘You alright mate?’.
“But somebody has taught him, ‘Show us your knickers’. It’s a bit of a giggle.”
Richard suspects mischievous regulars at the Queen’s Head in Ampthill, Beds, secretly taught Kermit the saucy phrase.
He inherited the 28-year-old yellow, green and white Senegalese parrot last year.
Richard, who took over the pub 13 years ago, said: “The customers absolutely love him to bits.”
But he admitted: “He’s not very friendly.
“They (parrots) tend to adopt one person as their minder and he has adopted me.”
