AMAZING photos show icicles seemingly erupting out of the ground – and the images have left locals baffled.
The images show the ice towers, some of which appear to be 10ft tall, shooting out of a Gloucestershire road.
The icicle phenomenon is said to have occurred after a main water pipe burst.
It is thought the water pipe main leaked into a bush as temperatures dropped below freezing in recent days, and formed the spectacular sight.
Helen Stratford snapped the mind-blowing images near her home in Staunton, near Corse.
The mum said the freak icicles looked like metal pipes that had erupted out of the ground.
Her daughter, Sabrina, posed for pictured in front of the sight and even handled one that had broken off.
And, as one would expect, the photos prompted a huge reaction on social media.
One woman commented: "Never seen anything like that before… brilliant pic!"
To which one man said: "Went past today looks fantastic."
Another added: "They look great, but oh! So cold brrr."
Meanwhile, a fresh dumping of snow will hit parts of the UK today as temperatures continue to tumble.
Up to eight inches will fall in some areas amid sub-zero conditions, causing chaos on the roads, railways and runways.
An amber snow warning is in force across Strathclyde, Central, Tayside and Fife, and West Lothian until at least midday, with "heavy snow" sparking widespread travel disruption.
The Met Office has urged motorists, as well as train and plane passengers, to take care and expect delays and cancellations.
For those staying at home, power cuts are also "likely".
