Geno Smith and the Seahawks have had “preliminary” discussions about a new contract according to coach Pete Carroll. Smith is coming off a career-best season, having posted 30 touchdown passes and earning his first Pro Bowl nomination. While Smith’s age and Seattle’s surplus draft capital will work against him, his representation can rightfully claim he was a top-10 QB in 2022 and deserves to be paid like one.
According to Pro Football Focus, Smith tied Kirk Cousins with a 79.3 overall grade for the season, ranking No. 9 in the NFL. Here’s how they rank the top 39 in the league this year.
