SHOCKED residents tonight paid tribute to the victim of an unexplained death that sparked a major police probe.
Kevan Doyle was discovered by cops following reports of a disturbance at a property in Wishaw, Lanarkshire on Friday night.
But the 43-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene after emergency crews arrived.
The tragedy sparked a large-scale police investigation involving detectives and a wide cordon manned by uniformed officers was put in place.
And forensic officers wearing white suits were still scouring for clues at the scene of the incident in the town’s Glencleland Road today.
Residents spoke of their shock at hearing Mr Doyle had died.
One, who did not wish to be named, said: “He’s from this area. He was at school here and he’s a nice fellow.
“He had a lot of friends and was well known.
“It’s a tragedy.
“We came back last night and the street was cordoned off.
“It’s concerning.
Another added: “I don’t think he worked as far as I’m aware. He’s from here.
"He was very friendly. He’s not one of the baddies – he is a nice boy.”
It’s understood Mr Doyle’s close family members live nearby to the scene of the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said the death was being “treated as unexplained” and enquiries remained “ongoing”.
They added: “We were made aware of a disturbance at Glencleland Road in Wishaw around 8.50pm on Friday, October 28.
“Emergency services attended and a 43-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.”
