Throughout each year, staff in Enrollment Services participate in a "Jeans Day" tradition to raise funds that provide gifts and support to local children during the holiday season.
As part of the division's fundraiser, which has continued each year since 2003, staff members wear jeans to work and contribute a dollar to support EOA Children's House, a local charity. In 2022, the team raised more than $1,000 to provide toys and goods to Children's House.
"We are so grateful for Enrollment Services at the University of Arkansas and their continued annual tradition of providing gifts to the children in our Children's House program," said Anna Cannon, director of children's services at EOA of Washington County. "Their support provides the joy of receiving a gift this holiday season to children who may not otherwise have this experience. Community partnerships like this one allow community action agencies like EOA to continue to serve the children and families of Northwest Arkansas."
"Children's House works year-round to care for children and families in our community. We are grateful for the chance to play a small role in that work and bring additional holiday cheer," said Suzanne McCray, vice provost of Enrollment Services. "Year after year, special thanks go to Kathi Davidson, who coordinates our gift giving with Children's House."
Founded in 1978, EOA Children's House provides services and support to children under the age of 5 who have faced abuse, neglect or other adverse experiences. The organization is one of the nation's largest long-term centers for early childhood abuse prevention and treatment, and the only center of its kind in Arkansas.
