Chaminade University of Honolulu has been recognized as a top regional west university in the annual U.S. News & World Report’s 2022 Best College rankings, released Sept. 12. The university was ranked No. 20 in “regional universities west,” No. 11 as a “best value” school and No. 28 on “social mobility.”
Chaminade moved up five spots in its overall ranking from 2021 and 10 spots for “best value.” This ranking is based on four indicators:
Chaminade University’s No. 28 ranking (up from No. 38 in 2022) as a “top performer on social mobility” is measured by the percentage of students who received federal Pell Grants and graduated.
“We are proud to be recognized among the top universities in the Western region,” said Chaminade University president Lynn Babington in a news release. “Our students-first commitment to provide an integral education, helps our students in their development, and educate for service, adaption and change is reflected in these rankings.”
U.S. News & World Report produces the longest-running assessment of U.S. colleges and universities. The most recent rankings assessed over 1,400 universities on 17 measures of academic quality, including graduation and retention rates, assessment by peers and counselors, faculty resources, financial resources for students, and graduation rate performance, among others.
