The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Cybersecurity Service – FEDweek

Calling all cybersecurity professionals interested in supporting the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) mission to prevent attacks against our country! The DHS Cybersecurity Talent Management System (CTMS) has launched. The goal of CTMS is to modernize the hiring of cybersecurity professionals for mission critical roles at the DHS Office of the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).
The new CTMS includes different specializations, known as technical capabilities, including: cybersecurity policy; cybersecurity program management; cybersecurity architecture; cybersecurity data science; cybersecurity defensive operations (intelligence collection and analysis or planning, execution, and analysis); cybersecurity engineering; cybersecurity research and development; cybersecurity risk management and compliance; cybersecurity threat analysis; digital forensics; mitigation and response; physical, embedded, and control systems security; secure network operations; security system operations and maintenance; and vulnerability assessment.

There are other important advantages to CTMS as well:

While the initial launch of CTMS is focused on CISA and the DHS CIO, it will be expanded to other DHS Components in 2022. Another program that focuses on cybersecurity positions with DHS  managed through the DHS Secretary’s Honors Program to recruit talented recent graduates.
