PRINCE Harry was left “incensed” after aides stepped in to block a private meeting with the Queen to discuss Megxit, an author has claimed.
The Duke sent an email to now King Charles explaining he and wife Meghan Markle were unhappy – and Royal life was "not working for them", according to royal author Valentine Low.
In an excerpt from her book Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown – published today in The Times – Low claims Harry was under the impression such a decision could simply be “sorted out by email”.
According to the book, he was “incensed”, believing this to be untrue and that it was the courtiers who had intercepted such a meeting, because they feared it was “an attempt to pick the Queen off” before more formal talks with the wider family commenced.
“There was a danger that a private conversation could be interpreted very differently by two people,” a royal source claimed.

The Bank of England announced its plan for English money.
The images of the banknotes with King Charles' face will be revealed later this year, but won't enter circulation until 2024.
The new King's portrait will appear on all banknotes; the £5, £10, £20 and £50.
In order minimise the environmental and financial impact of the change, the existing stocks of notes that feature the late Queen will still be issued, and new notes, which will feature Charles, will only be printed to replace worn bank notes and meet overall demand.
Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie are the only children of Sarah Ferguson and accused sex offender, Prince Andrew.
The two sisters had their first children just one month apart in 2021.
Talking to HELLO! Magazine about her grandchildren last October, the late Queen's great grandchildren, Fergie said: "Sienna, she's very, very beautiful.
"It's so funny because when August smiles at me now, because he's seven and a half months, you actually know he genuinely likes you. It's not a put-on smile, he genuinely finds me very funny which is quite lucky."
Despite the Queen being female, when she took the throne, there was a rule stating that women wouldn't get succession rights.
The Queen only abolished the rule in 2013, and is not retrospective. This means that accused sex offender, Prince Andrew and younger brother, Prince Edward are ahead of Princess Anne in the line for the throne.
The role applies to those born after October 28, 2011, which means Anne misses out, and bumps Beatrice up and therefore Charles granted her Counsellor of the State.
Camilla already became Queen Consort upon the Queen's death.
When Camilla and Charles married, due to the adoration of Princess Diana, it was suggested that Camilla would never be queen.
Now, upon Charles' ascension to the throne, Camilla is now also a Counsellor of the State, along with Princess Beatrice, Charles' niece and eldest daughter of accused sex offender, Prince Andrew.
The role means that should the monarch become incapacitated, they will be able to take over as head of state.
People given this title include the spouse of the monarch and the next four people in line of succession over the age of 21.
We are all used to seeing that of the Queen on all things royal, such as post boxes.
For the first time in most people's lifetime, we will see the cypher change from one monarch's to another's.
in the wake of the monarch's death, more conversation has taken place about the Queen's role in the Sussexes leaving their duties completely.
A royal writer has released a book detailing a situation whereby the Queen said Harry and Meghan were unable to play by the rules.
Valentine Low wrote Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown, in which he reportedly details that the Queen was presented with five scenarios in which the duke and duchess could continue in part-time roles.
According to Low, the late monarch suggested that if the couple weren't able to abide by the rules that restricted them taking on paid work, then they couldn't carry out any duties at all.
The book is expected to be released this Autumn.
Harry has spoken openly about what this book means to him and his attempt to get his story out there.
However, it's thought that in the wake of the Queen's death some parts of the book won't read as well as if she were still alive.
A source told The Sun and The Mail: "Harry has thrown a spanner in the works as he is desperate to get it refined in the light of the Queen’s death, her funeral and his father Charles taking the throne."

Angela was the Queen’s dresser, the two are thought to have had a close bond, and the Queen granted Angela permission to write books about the Royals.
Richard Kay, Daily Mail editor, wrote: “Charles was dismayed when Miss Kelly, now a 70-year-old grandmother, was unusually granted permission to author a series of books about her life with the Queen, which were billed as providing a unique insight into the ‘true and lasting connection’ between the two women.”

King Charles III should seriously consider opening Balmoral to the public all year round, says the SNP’s Westminster leader Ian Blackford.
The Aberdeenshire estate, where the late Queen died, usually opens from April to July before the Royal Family arrives for a summer break.
Only half of its £3million yearly running costs are met through tourism activities.
Mr Blackford said: “Making it a year-round visitor attraction would provide a massive boost to the local economy.
“It would also help Balmoral pay its way.”
His Grace The Duke of Norfolk – who planned Her Majesty’s historic funeral – pleaded guilty to one count of using his mobile phone while driving.
He also landed an £800 fine, with £350 costs and was ordered to pay an £80 victim surcharge.
The official argued he should be allowed to keep his license, as he plans King Charles III’s coronation.
The Duke said: “I need my four-wheel drive to get around.
“I always drive to Norfolk because there’s no other way of getting there. My office in Arundel is four miles away from where I live.
“I’ve got the financial means to hire a driver, but it would be almost impossible to have enough drivers to get me to the right places at the right time.
“I love being simple, I try to be unpompous and direct. I love arriving somewhere in my old BMW.
“A driving ban will curtail my manoeuvrability considerably.”

Royal author Robert Jobson has called on Harry and Meghan to cut ties with streaming giant Netflix, as the couple prepares to release a tell-all docuseries.
“How can Harry & Meghan carry on with this Netflix deal? There are many who believe this fiction is fact,” he tweeted.
“It will cause untold damage to our King and Queen Consort around the world early in his reign.
“Are H & M really that hard up? Come of ‘H’ show some loyalty to your country.”

Prince Harry wants to “refine” sections of his new book – but it might be too late.
The Sun’s Matt Wilkinson writes how sources claim Harry may fear parts will be deemed insensitive so soon after the Queen’s death and his dad Charles taking the throne.
It also emerged he got an advance of around £17.5million ($20million) for the “wholly truthful” memoir part of a £35million four-book deal.
Harry, 38, who has launched a series of verbal assaults on his family, has contacted publishers but the book has already been signed off and is expected to be on sale by the end of the year.
It comes amid claims Penguin Random House demanded the first draft be improved.
A source told The Sun on Sunday: “The publishers paid $20million up front because they knew whatever was written would be huge for sales and exposure all around the world.
“But the first draft they received was disappointing as it was a bit too emotional and focused far more on mental health issues than they wanted.
“Eventually, the final draft has been finished and signed off and a lot of money and energy has been spent to make sure it comes out this year.
“But Harry has thrown a spanner in the works as he is desperate to get it refined in the light of the Queen’s death, her funeral and his father Charles taking the throne.
“There may be things which might not look so good if they come out so soon after the Queen’s death and his dad becoming King.
“He wants sections changed. It’s not a total rewrite by any means. He desperately wants to make changes. But it might be too late.”
