John Barrowman has said he is ‘devastated’ to cancel his UK tour following slow ticket sales.
The Glasgow-born actor, 55, posted a lengthy statement on Instagram to fans on Monday night as he apologised to fans.
In the emotional text post, Barrowman wrote: “It is with huge regret that we have decided to cancel the UK tour.
“Unfortunately, tickets sales in certain parts of the UK have been slow, and with the increased costs of touring it is no longer economically viable to continue. ”

The singer continued his explanation, adding: “This is a decision that has not been taken lightly, and I know many of my fans will be very upset, as am I.
“Personally I am devastated and like many people I have found the last years extremely difficult, possibly the hardest few years of my life.
Barrowman then concluded the statement by writing: “When it gets tough it is sometimes better to stop and re-evaluate and that is exactly what I am going to do. ”

The entertainer, best known for playing Captain Jack Harkness in Doctor Who and Torchwood, was due to perform in Glasgow, Manchester, Cardiff and more throughout February 2023.
The cancelled tour follows a difficult period for Barrowman after he was dropped as a judge on ITV’s Dancing on Ice last year.
The move followed a sexual misconduct storm earlier in 2021 in which Barrowman admitted exposing himself to colleagues on set.
The actor said he had taken part in “tomfoolery” on the sets of BBC shows Doctor Who and Torchwood.
