I took my girl to the UK’s most depressing ‘Winter Wonderland’ – it was a mudbath and creepy Santa left her… – The Scottish Sun

FUMING parents dubbed a Christmas wonderland a snow-go for kids — after stumbling across palm trees, hay bales and a Santa with no hands.
Families said they waded through a “mud swamp” to reach the festive flop, where most free activities were allegedly shut.
And a mum told how her little one burst into tears after a shot on one of the attraction’s rides.
Some visitors are now demanding a refund on the £15-a-head entry fee at the Enchanted Festival on the Balgone Estate in North Berwick, East Lothian.
One parent said of the weekend event, billed “magical” by organisers: “It didn’t feel festive and there were times we were just walking through bales of hay.
“The whole place felt chaotic, there were no staff available to speak to.”
Describing the kids’ trip on the Santa train, she added: “It was £3.75 on top of our ticket for two minutes of strangeness. Our little one got off at the end and started crying.”
The event had promised a Christmas Maze, Santa’s Grotto, street food treats, a fairground and cute animals.
But pics on social media showed a flooded barn entrance, a mannequin Santa with no hands and lit-up palm trees giving a tropical summer vibe.
Another mum said: “The funfair wasn’t open, the maze was a few bales of hay with fairy lights and the light trail was incomplete.
“They’re definitely not providing what’s advertised.”
The Balgone Estate insisted they’re “not running the event directly”.
Enchanted Festivals said: “We are very concerned about anyone who feels that our event was disappointing.
"We have some very positive feedback from many of our visitors, so these comments are being taken seriously.
