OLEKSANDR Zinchenko is hopeful of returning for Arsenal for their Boxing Day clash against West Ham.
The Ukrainian was out of action before the World Cup, struggling with injury.
Elsewhere, Mykhaylo Mudryk's valuation of £100million is deemed too high for the Gunners to pay.
They have been heavily linked with the winger, but a deal appears unlikely as the price stands.

Arsenal star Ben White has reunited with his stunning fiancee, Milly Adams, after quitting England for "personal reasons".
The defender, 25, left England's World Cup camp on November 30 before the start of the Three Lions' knockout campaign.
Reports then surfaced of a potential bust-up with England's assistant coach, Steve Holland.
However, Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate played down allegations that White had gone home as a result of a row.
White has since re-joined his Arsenal team-mates in Dubai on Saturday, before taking part in his first training session on Sunday.
And he has also reunited with stunning fiancee Milly.
Arsenal are set to make a call on whether or not to sign a new striker before Christmas.
Arteta could use Gabriel Martinelli, who will return to training this week, through the middle if needed while Emile Smith Rowe, who is continuing his recovery from groin surgery, could be used as a false nine.
But a move to find additional cover in the January market has not yet been ruled out.
Arsenal have long tracked Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhalo Mudryk, though were given a fresh warning over his price tag, told they will have to match the £100million Manchester City paid for Jack Grealish to land the 21-year-old.
Darijo Srna, director of football at Shakhtar, told Marca: “Who wants to sign Mudryk has to pay a big amount of money — otherwise our president will not sell him.
“Jack Grealish was sold for more than €100m and Mudryk’s level is not lower."
Another option being considered by the Gunners is to recall on loan striker Folarin Balogun.
Arsenal have lost star striker Gabriel Jesus to a knee injury, leaving Eddie Nketiah as the only striker in Mikel Arteta's squad.
Bosses at The Emirates will wait to assess all the players who have returned from the World Cup before deciding how to approach the January window.
Jesus is said to have responded well to surgery, with Arsenal having moved quickly to bring him back from the World Cup, though his recovery time is still unclear.
Here's what the Gunners will miss as they look for a replacment.
Ben White returned to action for Arsenal for the first time since leaving the England squad as the Gunners continued their preparation for the Premier League’s return, writes Jack Rosser in Dubai.
Martin Odegaard and Reiss Nelson netted in a 2-1 win over AC Milan as the Gunners won the Dubai Super Cup.
England defender White rejoined his teammates on Sunday after a short break and played the first 45 minutes at right-back here, while Ghana international Thomas Partey also started for the first time after the World Cup.
Arsenal strolled past Lyon 3-0 in the first of two friendlies in the Middle East last week.
And after a spell of Milan pressure, the Gunners took the ascendancy again.
Arsenal captain Odegaard stepped up and sent a dipping free-kick over the wall and well past Ciprian Tatarusanu, the AC Milan keeper, who was rooted to the spot.
And The Gunners doubled their lead shortly before the break. Moments after a whack to the face from Sandro Tonali, Fabio Vieira found space in the box and laid the ball square to Nelson, whose low shot was deflected leaving Tatarusanu helpless.
With under 15 minutes on the clock, former Chelsea man Fikayo Tomori rose highest to head a consolation.
Having beaten Lyon in the shootout for an extra point, Arsenal did the same here, Karl Hein saving from former Manchester City man Brahim Diaz before Rade Krunic missed from 12 yards, failing to capitalise on Matt Smith’s saved spot-kick.
Three Premier League clubs are in the hunt for Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix, including Arsenal.
The Gunners are believed to be favourites ahead of Manchester United and Aston Villa to land the Portuguese attacker.
Interest in the star has climbed after some encouraging World Cup performances for Portugal.
And at only 23-years-old, he could bring years of quality to any one of his English suitors.
Fulham are keen on Arsenal right-back Cedric Soares.
The Whites are eager to bring in the out of favour defender in January, according to Sky Sports.
After first making enquiries in the summer, they are set to follow up their interest in January.
Soares has made just two substitute appearances for Arsenal this season.
Both Soares and Fulham boss Marco Silva are Portuguese.
Former Germany midfielder Toni Kroos has urged Per Mertesacker to quit Arsenal and became German national team technical director.
Former chief Olivier Bierhoff was axed after the group stage exit at the World Cup.
Mertesacker is the manager of the Arsenal Academy.
And Kroos told Einfach mal Luppen podcast: "I really think Per is the perfect man for the job.
"He is a great personality, also has an absolute authority and, on the other hand, he can also be a buddy guy.
"Per is mega professional and could also make sure that there is a certain closeness to the fans again. In my eyes, he would be the perfect man for the job.
"He has gained a lot of experience in the academy of Arsenal London over the years."
Despite a breakthrough season at Arsenal, William Saliba has been little more than a footnote in France's World Cup run so far.
The 21-year-old has had a fine season in the Premier League but has been pipped to first-team spots by more experienced defenders.
But after Dayot Upamecano was given the run around against England, could Saliba be in for a start against Morocco tonight?
He so far only has one appearance to his name in Qatar.
Mikel Arteta has praised Morocco boss Walid Regragui ahead of tonight's huge World Cup semi-final.
A picture of the Arsenal manager presenting a Zoom tactics seminar, attended by Regragui, has gone viral in recent days and Arteta revealed his happiness at Morocco's progress.
He said: "The impact on him he deserves it and what he is doing is totally amazing, what the team is transmitting is great.
"I think it’s a really positive thing for world football to have an African team at this stage where there are four very selective teams at this World Cup."
Former England boss Sven-Goran Eriksson has said he agrees with the decision to send Ben White home if reports of a bust-up are true.
The Arsenal defender allegedly had a falling out with assistant manager Steve Holland before prematurely leaving the England squad.
Speaking on the reports, Eriksson told OLBG: "If Ben White had an argument with Steve Holland, that is not positive news.
"It's very difficult to comment about it, but I find it strange that one of the coaches and players have different opinions about something. It must be something big, you don't leave unless it's a big issue, it looks very strange.
"I had a player at Lazio who had a huge argument between him and the kit man, so I went into the dressing room and told the players to behave otherwise they go home. That player went home."
Arsenal are reportedly set to launch a final transfer bid to sign Youri Tielemans next month.
The Belgian international, 25, has been chased by the North London club since last summer.
He is free to speak to overseas clubs regarding a free transfer from January 1 with his deal expiring in June.
Now Arsenal are reportedly set to test the waters when the window re-opens to try and convince Leicester to cash in while they still can.
The Daily Mirror states that “any decent offer will be very tempting for the Thai-owned Foxes whose financial fortunes have been hit this term with no European football.”
Olivier Giroud is set to be rewarded with a new AC Milan contract after the World Cup.
The former Arsenal and Chelsea star broke England’s hearts as he headed home to secure 2-1 win in the quarter-final on Saturday.
Now the 36-year-old veteran and his team-mates are preparing for tonight’s semi-final date with Morocco.
The forward’s displays are set to earn him an extension with his club with his current one due to expire in June.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano tweeted: “Meeting scheduled between Olivier Giroud’s agents and AC Milan after the World Cup to complete the agreement on new contract. New deal almost ready and set to be signed soon, all parties have the same intention: continue together.”
William Saliba's time as a starter for France will come, according to French legend David Trezeguet.
The Arsenal defender has been limited to just one World Cup appearance so far despite his brilliant club form.
But Trezeguet told wettbasis.com: "He [William Saliba] doesn't play a big role in Qatar, but the competition is very tough.
"He has developed very well at Arsenal since last summer. I assume that his time will come soon, because he has promising potential. And his positional play is getting better and better."
Sven-Goran Eriksson has insisted Arsenal can still win the league despite Gabriel Jesus' World Cup injury.
The striker's campaign in Qatar ended prematurely after he picked up a knee problem with Brazil which leaves him set for a spell on the sidelines.
But former England manager Eriksson told OLBG: "Gabriel Jesus' injury is very bad news for Arsenal, but I still think they can win the Premier League.
"I have not seen much of Eddie Nketiah but I have seen Arsenal a few times and I think Mikel Arteta is doing a fantastic job. It will be hard to beat Manchester City because they don't lose many games."
It's expected Gabriel Jesus will be out for up to three months – and now Gooners must wait to see how Arteta will react, writes Arsenal superfan Dave Seager.
I took the liberty of running a poll asking the Arsenal faithful if Jesus' compatriot, Gabriel Martinelli, should be moved into a more central role.
With Emile Smith Rowe now fit and able to take Martinelli's spot on the left wing, it seems a potentially viable option – the others being starting Eddie Nketiah through the middle or delving into the transfer market.
But it seems most Gooners want to try Martinelli down the middle, with 56.1 per cent of nearly 1,400 fans backing the move that would see the Croydon De Bruyne on the left.

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Brazilian wonderkid Messinho.
Messinho, otherwise known as Estevão Willian, is another from the current crop of prodigal talent in the academy of Palmeiras.
And following reports that fellow wonderkid Endrick is nearing a move to Real Madrid, Palmeiras are looking to get some money for another diamond.
In this case, the club are said to be demanding a fee in the region of £43million. Or rather, they will once Messinho signs his first professional contract upon turning 16.
According to Goal in Brazil, the winger will sign his first contract with the club in April next year.
Harry Maguire has been tipped to move to North London and leave Manchester United.
The centre-half rediscovered his form after Gareth Southgate kept faith with him and included the ex-Leicester City ace in his World Cup squad.
TalkSPORT Breakfast host Ally McCoist does not expect him to stick around long and said he could be a target for Arsenal or Tottenham.
“I think he will move. I don’t think he may move, I’ll go one further – I think he WILL move. He isn’t going to hang around – he wants to play.
“I don’t think there are any guarantees that he’s going to march back into the Manchester United team, not in front of [Raphael] Varane and [Lisandro] Martinez.
“Straight away off the top of my head, I’d say he’s good enough for Spurs. Arsenal?"
Arsenal face their best chance to win the Premier League for several years.
The Gunners have a five-point lead over Manchester City going into Christmas and could opt to try and strengthen in January to boost their title chances.
The club have been linked to Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic and Gabriel Jesus' injury could intensify speculation.
Shakhtar Donetsk youngster Mykhaylo Mudryk has also been linked with an Emirates move, while Arsenal face a three-way fight for Joao Felix.
Tottenham are ready to swoop for Wilfried Zaha when his contract expires in the summer, according to reports.
The long-serving Crystal Palace legend is yet to sign a new deal at Selhurst Park and can leave on a free at the end of the season.
Football Insider report that Tottenham are ready to spring for the 30-year-old, who has long been an Arsenal target.
Three Premier League clubs are in the hunt for Atletico Madrid's Joao Felix.
Arsenal are believed to be favourites ahead of Manchester United and Aston Villa to land the Portuguese attacker.
Interest in the star has climbed after some encouraging World Cup performances for Portugal.
And at only 23-years-old, he could bring years of quality to any one of his English suitors.
If Gareth Southgate does leave the England job, I’d love the FA to try and get Eddie Howe, says former Arsenal star and SunSport columnist Jack Wilshere.
I know how good Eddie is from my time at Bournemouth but people wondered whether he could make that step up to a bigger club.
Well, now he has shown at Newcastle how skilled he is at developing players and he’s turning them into title challengers.
The problem for the FA would be persuading him to swap his club for his country — and I’m not sure they’ll be able to do that.
Read Wilshere's full column on who should be England's next boss – if Southgate leaves – here.
Mikel Arteta has had his say on Ben White after the defender left the England camp early.
White was back in club action yesterday as he helped Arsenal to a 2-1 friendly win over AC Milan following reports a bust up with assistant manager Steve Holland led to his Three Lions exit.
And Arteta said he was "very pleased [to have him back]. Everybody has been giving him a lot of support and love.
"We know the reasons he had to leave the camp. We are delighted to have him back and he looked in really good shape.
"I’ve been having conversations with all the players at the World Cup.
"Not only with Ben but with all the players to try to give support when somebody needs it."
The Gunners are rated favourites to sign Joao Felix and Mikel Arteta was delighted to welcome back Ben White in a 2-1 win over AC Milan.
Martin Odegaard and Reiss Nelson netted to clinch the Dubai Super Cup as Arsenal warm up for the Premier League resuming at Christmas.
And boss Arteta says centre-back White has quickly settled back after his early return from England's World Cup squad for personal reasons.
The Gunners are reportedly ahead of Manchester United and PSG in what could be a summer battle for Atletico Madrid's Portudal attacker Felix.
Meanwhile, Arsenal, United and Chelsea are all said to have made contact over Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic
But PSG and Bayern Munich are also keen on the £69million-rated Serbia hero.
Arsenal are reportedly “making inroads” with their interest in Eintracht Frankfurt centre-back Evan Ndicka.
It's even suggested the Gunners have already tried to convince the uncapped Frenchman not to extend his contract beyond this summer.
Lastly, Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani reportedly fancies buying an English club – with Arsenal tipped to top his wishlist ahead of Manchester United and Liverpool.
Arsenal legend Emmanuel Petit rates William Saliba as one of the best defenders in the world.
Petit told wettbasis: “He’s made a huge leap forward this season, he’s asserted himself at Arsenal and he’s also a key part of the Gunners’ successful season. He already seems very mature and very calm in his game.
“After first being on loan [St Etienne, Nice and Marseille] he wanted to show everyone, especially coach Mikel Arteta.
“He anticipates the opponent’s attacks very well, he is technically clean and he is now bursting with self-confidence.
“He’s now one of the best defenders in the Premier League, that’s for sure.
“He is the future of Arsenal, but also of the French national team.”
Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea have made contact over Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, Tuttosport claim.
The Italian outfit name PSG and Bayern Munich as among the Serbia hero’s other admirers.
Juve would reportedly want around £69million for the 22-year-old.
