As England gear up to take on France in tonight’s quarter-final, Gareth Southgate has said the Three Lions are ready to “nail” their performance; Cristiano Ronaldo leaves the pitch in tears as Portugal suffer a shock defeat to history-making Morocco.

England manager Gareth Southgate has been speaking to ITV about his team selection for tonight, which remains unchanged

The starting line-up for tonight’s game has been released – and is unchanged from last week’s match against Senegal.
The England team to face France is: Pickford, Walker, Stones, Maguire, Shaw, Rice, Henderson, Bellingham, Saka, Kane, and Foden.
On the subs bench is: Ramsdale, Pope, Trippier, Dier, Coady, Alexander-Arnold, Gallagher, Phillips, Mount, Maddison, Rashford, Grealish, and Wilson.

Morocco are into the semi-finals of the World Cup, writes Sky’s Middle East editor Zein Ja’far.
The first team from the Middle East and North Africa to achieve it. There are wild celebrations in Lusail as the giant screens show Cristiano Ronaldo walking off the pitch in tears.
Incredible! People are hugging, hoisting Morocco flags above their heads and singing Ole! Ole! Ole! 
One women in front of me was calling her family in Morocco – I have no idea how she could hear anything!   
What a performance, what a moment of history. 
Morocco have made history after holding out with 10 men to beat Portugal in a dramatic World Cup quarter final.
They are now the first African side to reach the last four of the tournament.
Portuguese football icon Cristiano Ronaldo was seen crying after walking off the pitch at the end of the game.
Morocco forward Walid Cheddira gets his second yellow card in the space of a few seconds for a late tackle on Portugal’s Jaoa Felix.
Morocco will have to see this out with 10 players – a huge disadvantage if it goes to extra time.

Every shot from Morocco is cheered, every pass applauded.
Fans young and old are grabbing hold of one another, throwing their hands in the air and cheering their team on. It’s an incredible atmosphere here in Lusail.
There were lots of boos from the Morocco fans as Cristiano Ronaldo came off the bench for Portugal.
Can Morocco hold on for another 15 minutes? Portugal are growing into the game and in Ronaldo they have a five-time Ballon D’or winner with a point to prove on the pitch. 
UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and French President Emmanuel Macron have joked together ahead of the quarter-final clash between their respective nations.

With some academics believing relations between France and England are their lowest ebb for decades, it will be hoped that Mr Sunak and Mr Macron can put their differences aside no matter what the result tonight.
