We invite applications to join our integrated teaching, research and innovation teams in the Department of Networks and Cybersecurity as Senior Lecturer in Cyber Security. We embed cyber and network security principles and practices into cybersecurity and network security courses on undergraduate and postgraduate levels. You’ll be joining a well-established course-team with a proven track record of producing skilled and confident graduates who are ready to meet the demands of the cyber security industry. The department’s teaching & learning strategy is aimed to equip students with cyber and network security skills and knowledge that will boost their employability. The research-and-innovation objective is to enhance the reputation of the school through active engagement with excellent research resulting in high quality outcomes, research-informed teaching, and impactful projects that advance the state of the art within Cyber and Network security practice and research.
To support this exciting strategic initiative, the department is looking to fill the vacancy for:
The role is focused on cyber security, and you will be expected to teach undergraduate/postgraduate modules in topics relating to this area. As a senior lecturer, you will also be expected to contribute to module and course leadership and management. Applicants are expected to have a good practical experience in one or more of specialisms within cyber security. Experience of teaching & learning and research for cyber security in the following areas will be advantageous:
Membership of a professional body (such as the BCS, the IET, ISACA or ISC2) and professional registration (such as CITP or CEng) is also beneficial at all grades. Industrial certifications in any of the following areas: Cisco, Juniper or EC Council.
Depending on experience, applicants will teach across a variety of different areas, and will be expected to teach at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels from level 3 to level 7.
