A SENIOR Conservative MP has been reported to police over allegations of rape and an alleged string of sexual assaults.
The backbencher has not been suspended by party bosses, despite an investigation being conducted by an independent law firm.
A group of senior Conservative MPs have made a third-party report to the Metropolitan Police over allegations spanning two years.
However, no formal investigation has been opened yet by Scotland Yard.
A Met Police spokesman said: “On October 28, police received allegations of serious sexual assault reported to have taken place on unknown dates at undisclosed locations.
“The reports were submitted via a third party. Officers are making enquiries into these allegations.”
A Conservative Party spokesman declined to comment.
The revelation comes just a day after The Sun revealed a different former Tory MP had been arrested in June 2021 for historic sex crimes.
The Met has passed a file to the Crown Prosecution Service for a charging decision on him.
And a third Tory MP is also on bail over a separate rape allegation and has been told to avoid the Parliamentary estate while inquiries are conducted.
But no similar request has been made of this backbencher, despite the situation being widely known at the top of the Tory party.
