A 23-year-old woman remains in a critical condition in hospital after bricks fell off a lorry and struck her.
The HGV was carrying pallets of bricks on the A35 Southampton Road in Lyndhurst, Hampshire, at about 12:10 GMT on Monday.
As it travelled past the woman the load dislodged and fell into her path.
Police are seeking witnesses who saw a driver in a Pitter self-drive van trying to flag down the lorry driver to warn him of the unstable load.
The force said the woman suffered serious injuries and was taken to Southampton General Hospital where she remains "in a critical condition".
Hampshire Constabulary is urging those who were travelling in vehicles on the A35 from Rushington to Lyndhurst who saw the van driver to come forward.
The road was shut to allow investigations to take place following the crash but has now reopened.
