I was stunned when a hotel turned me away due to my daughter’s age – it’s insane… – The Sun

A DAD was left stunned after a hotel turned him away because of his daughter's age.
Simon Jones travelled to Cleethorpes with his wife and five-year-old daughter Bianca last weekend.
Hoping for a nice family getaway, they booked Kingsway Hotel on the seafront – but were soon left disapointed.
Originally being from the seaside town before moving to London, the dad-of-one was familiar with the hotel.
Claiming there was always a 'no under 5's' rule in place, Simon waited until what he thought was the right time to take his daughter – but was swiftly turned away.
What Simon described as "frankly draconian" and "unthinkable", the hotel told him no one under the age of 12 could stay there.
He told GrimsbyLive: "It takes me five hours to get to Cleethorpes from Fulham and I often spend time in the area so I took massive offence when I was told this.
"You would think this rule would have changed to make the place more accepting of young people, but it would seem it's stuck in a time warp."
Going as far as to brand the action "inhumane", Simon said the hotel needed to be held accountable.
"It's inhumane to exclude families in modern times, it's just totally absurd and disgusting," he added.
Simon slammed Kingsway admitting he would never return.
"People like [Bianca] are the future customers of these venues, but they may not have a future if they're being turned away for the first 12 years of their life," he continued.
The hotel's website states in its policies children older than five are welcome – but the rule has appeared to change.
A spokesman for Kingsway told The Sun Online: "Mr Jones is correct with regard to Cleethorpes being a family resort and with immediate effect we will welcome all children over the age of five years old both to stay and to dine with us.
"As a goodwill gesture we would like to offer Mr & Mrs Jones and Bianca a complimentary night with us including lunch or dinner in our restaurant."
