PRINCESS Cruises has revealed that its biggest-ever cruise ship is due to visit Southampton.
The 4,300-guest Sun Princess will sail on a “Grand Mediterranean” inaugural voyage on February 8, 2024, followed by more Mediterranean journeys through to September.
Sun Princess will also be in Southampton on September 22 and 23.
A Princess Cruises spokesperson said: “The full European season includes ten-night itineraries visiting popular stops throughout the Western and Eastern Mediterranean and a series of seven-night voyages departing from either Barcelona, Rome (Civitavecchia) or Athens.”

Sun Princess is being built at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy.
The vessel will boast a cutting-edge entertainment space called The Dome, plus 21 decks and more than 29 restaurants and bars.
Eithne Williamson, vice president of Princess Cruises UK and Europe, said: “Welcoming the beautiful Sun Princess to Southampton in 2024 will mark a very special visit.

“It will be the first time a brand-new ship in the Princess fleet has called in to a UK port during a maiden season in more than ten years.
“Sun Princess will also be our first ship to be powered by eco-friendly Liquefied Natural Gas, just one of a host of ways we are honouring our commitment to sustainable operations.”
