A man is in hospital with serious injuries after he was stabbed in Stretford this morning.
The emergency services were called to a disturbance on Chester Road, near to Meadow Lodge, at 4.30am.
On arrival, it was established a man in his 30s was stabbed. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
A man in his 20s was also arrested on suspicion of Section 18 assault.
Police put in place a cordon for several hours to allow for investigators to work on the scene, which seemed to centre around a car on the roundabout between Barton Road and Chester Road.
Traffic was not able to turn towards Sale from Edge Lane, or towards Stretford from the M60, until around lunchtime.
